The purpose of Buddie's Buddies is to enhance the personal and physical growth of our participants who have disabilities. Founded in 2004 by Buddie Butterfield, the program has already touched the lives of many of the golfers we teach. Our programs are open to participants who range in age from 6-83. Through the generosity of volunteers and sponsors from throughout the metro area, we have been able to give joy to people with disabilities. Buddie Butterfield is a PGA & Adaptive Golf Foundation certified golf instructor. Buddie has dedicated his life's work to helping children and adults who would otherwise never play golf, learn that they can play and enjoy golf just as much as able-bodied players. By utilizing recreational and educational tools, and a hands-on approach... We can accomplish a lot! |

NOW is the time to start planning for the Fourth Annual Kansas Regional Amputee Golf
Tournament on Friday and Saturday, October 3rd & 4th at the Overland Park Golf Club.
The tournament, which benefits Buddie's Buddies, will also benefit the newly founded
Buddie's Veterans Adaptive Golf (BVAG) program, which is fully supported by the Kansas
City Veterans Administration Hospital. Corporate Sponsorships are still available for this
event, which is known as "the last great tournament of the season!"
We're also in need of Volunteers for our clinics and the tournament. To download a

On August 10th, the staff at Fred P. Ott's in Overland Park took care of our guests for the
"FIRST ANNUAL FRED P. OTT'S BENEFIT FOR BUDDIE'S BUDDIES!" The event which
started at 1:00 pm and lasted all night was a huge success in raising money for Buddie's
Buddies and Buddie's Veterans Adaptive Golf. More than 200 guests attended the first
annual event, with a giant inflatable for the kids, door prizes every 20 minutes and a silent
auction. All proceeds benefited Buddie's Buddies & BVAG.
The highlight of the event was our guest speaker, Capt. George Burk, USAF (Ret.) whose
story as the sole survivor of a plane crash, touched the hearts of all who attended. His book
and CD sales also benefited Buddie's Buddies and the BVAG.
